SPEC Connaissance brings an array of public figures to address the Penn community each year. Speakers of the past include Anderson Cooper, Madeline Albright, Henry Kissinger, Whoopi Goldberg, Peyton Manning, Billy Joel, Dick Vitale, Oliver Stone, Ben & Jerry, Ellen DeGeneres and others. We also co-sponsor smaller events with a variety of campus organizations, including Hillel, Facilitating Learning About Sexual Health, and the South Asian Society. Our group is entirely student-run and is open to anyone who is interested in joining.

Tickets are $5 for PennCard holders. The lottery is no longer open but you can buy tickets for Steve Forbes on LOCUST WALK Monday (11/2) and Tuesday (11/3) from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM or at the door in Irvine Auditorium before the event, which starts at 8PM.

SPEC Connaissance Presents: Whoopi Goldberg

Critically acclaimed actress and comedian will address the Penn community

World-renowned entertainer will address the University of Pennsylvania community as the SPEC Connaissance Fall keynote Speaker on Saturday, October 6, 2007^th at 8:00PM in Irvine Auditorium. In her talk Ms. Goldberg will share thoughts and experiences on her career and extensive charitable works and field audience questions.

Tickets are $10 for PennCard holders and will be available via a lottery system on the Social Planning and Events Committee Web site, www.specevents.net, starting September 10 and ending September 28. Tickets will be distributed to lottery winners the week of the event on a first-come, first-serve basis. Winners will be allowed to pick up a maximum of two tickets.

SPEC Connaissance hosts two keynote speaker events each academic year and co-sponsors numerous other speaker events with various campus organizations. Past speakers have included Peyton Manning, Henry Kissinger, Howard Dean, Martin Sheen, Christopher Reeve, Arthur Miller, Billy Joel, and Queen Noor of Jordan.
