SPEC Spring Fling organizes Spring Fling, the biggest (and best) college festival on the East Cost and a Penn tradition in existence for 35 years. Each April, nearly 10,000 students and their friends get a chance to revel in the sun before final exams begin. Food vendors, inflatables, live performances by student groups, local bands and much more fills the Quad. On Saturday night, Penn students enjoy more inflatables and games, a DJ party, and free food from their favorite vendors, including Magic Carpet, Chipotle, Capogiro Gelato, and Pat’s Cheesesteaks.

This year’s spring fling will be April 16-17, 2010.

Please mark your calendars:

To kick off NSO, PSG will be having a mixer in Houston Hall (Reading Room) on Saturday 9/4 from 11 pm to 12 am.

The PSG info session will be held in Claudia Cohen Hall G17 on Wednesday 9/8 from 8 pm to 9 pm.

The SPEC info session will be held in Claudia Cohen Hall G17 on Thursday 9/9 from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

Interested in a free ticket to the 2010 Spring Fling Concert featuring Snoop Dogg w/ Kid Cudi and Shwayze, a free t-shirt, and a chance to win other prizes? FlingSafe’s got you covered.

FlingSafe was created five years ago to prevent Fling from being moved out of the Quad and to keep our favorite University tradition alive.  In recent years it has been extremely successful, and we are excited to bring it back in 2010.

FlingSafe volunteers give two hours of their time over the course of Fling weekend (April 16-17) to help keep their peers safe and happy, demonstrating to Penn administrators that we can take responsibility for making the weekend enjoyable for everyone involved. They do not write people up or get students in trouble.  Actually, they do the opposite:  FlingSafe volunteers look out for the best interests of their peers, ensuring that no one suffers unnecessary administrative or health consequences.

Below is the application, due March 29 at midnight. Volunteers are required to attend one training session prior to Spring Fling. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
